Born
in 1952, Puerto Montt, Chile. Lives and works in Paris since 1980.
As a youth, Alberto was already attracted by the arts, first with
painting, later expanding his horizon to sculpture gradually taking
on the challenge of working with material reputed to be untamed.
Frequently returning to Chile where he searches for rare minerals
and woods.His achievements have led to an invitation to exhibit
monumental sculpture in Shanghai in 2007, and in the future international
exhibition the be held there in 2010.
In 2007 a retrospective exhibition of his sculpture is held at
Puerto Montt, Chile where is was born.
To carve the hardest, oldest, woods, the most brittle semi precious
stones is Alberto’s von Fach’s passion. The challenge
of going beyond the known possible is his goal.
