PANTA REI...Everything Flows | oils, watercolors and photos | 2010 - 2011

PANTA REI: Everything flows… ‘Ever-newer waters flow on those who step into the same river.’ According to the Greek philosopher Heraclitus, there is no permanent reality except the reality of change. Permanence is just an illusion of the senses. This same thought inspired Jean Nestares’ work. Jean transforms images through the multiples prisms of the water flow. These prisms are geometric crystals that decompose light. Figures float freely without being trapped in a sensation of perpetual metamorphosis.
